Everything comes with a price... and the best things in life are not always for free. Like love. Sacrifice is always a main ingredient in this thing called love. And love demands that you spend time with your love one to make them feel loved... (sigh). Sometimes, money matters. See husbands and wives ending their marriages because of empty stomachs?
All right. Enough of this cheesy topic on love. This note is not about it. This is about how I am pissed off with the everyday traffic and pollution that I have to endure to "generate income." What I mean is, do I really have to travel four hours just to get to and from work everyday? And do I have to fill my lungs with smog just because I work in the capital city, where industries (capitalism) thrive. It's not even just in Metro Manila. Cavite, for one, is also turning into one of these dirty places. Yeah, improving roads, housing, companies, etc. etc. But Heavy traffic eats up my time here on Earth. I breath air with carbon dioxide. Garbage dumps greet me when I walk on the street.
Is this really the price of so-called development? The way I see it, humanity is slowly killing itself with dirty air and filthy land and water. I just want a clean place for my family and community. And as I see it, this thing they call development is not development at all.
