Starbucks Christmas Hype

Christmas is in the air and Starbucks Planners are again up for grabs. For every 17 stickers, coffee lovers can get a limited edition planner for 2011.

I'm not a fan of Starbucks planners. Anyone can buy a planner in any bookstore, sans the waiting time and the extra expenses in sticker collection.

But this year, I plan to join the annual hype as part of my mission to go beyond my usual lifestyle and to try new things, and to reinvent my ways of thinking. I wanna explore this big, crazy world.

So on Tuesday, I embarked on my Starbucks 2011 Planner sticker collection. But before that I researched about the coffee company's annual tradition. I learned that for this year they launched the annual tradition on November 3 and each Starbucks coffee shop nationwide gave away special sticker album, which came with bonus stickers, for its first 200 or 500 customers. So I immediately called two Starbucks shops nearest my place to inquire.

Darn! The special sticker albums had all been given away. If I only knew that they would launched it Nov. 3, I could have been the first one to go to their stores. Anyway, just the same, the regular sticker album is okay.

I bought myself Hot Caramel Macchiato (Decaf) -- one of my favorites (I order it in any coffee shop I go to, be it Starbucks, Figaro, etc.). Just the thought of its caramel-sweet and creamy taste and smell, matched with the richness of espresso, makes me wanna have some more!

I brought it along as I take a bus ride to UP Diliman to attend my first meeting in my class in Media Research class for this sem. As I took a sip while the bus was on the move, I thought about my previous sem and this new sem. The recent sem was pretty tough for me. But I passed. This sem, I vow it will become better. New sem, new chances, new strategies, new achievements awaiting not only for me but also for my class.

Let's drink to that! :)
