With barely a week before Christmas, a much awaited event in the world, the country mourns over the hundreds who died during the lashing of tropical storm Sendong (International name: Washi). The country is now in the state of calamity as the southern part of the Philippines, specifically Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, has been so badly devastated by the storm.
Countries such as Australia, China and Japan, among others, have already extended their assistance in financial, medical and material forms. But much is still needed to help our brothers and sisters who have incurred injuries, lost loved ones, properties and livelihoods.
Let us help the victims of Sendong. Let us allocate part of our budget for Noche Buena and Media Noche for our fellow Filipinos in the south.
I found a helpful article, "How to Help Sendong Victims" by Eric Eder, from "The Inbox" in Yahoo! Southeast Asia. Check it out.
