The scandal that stemmed from the new policy of Pilar College, a prominent Catholic educational institution in the pluralistic City of Zamboanga, has earned national and international attention. This, as the issue is an indication of more encompassing and centuries-old concerns on amity among Filipinos of various religions and among citizens of various nations – in short, world peace is at stake here.
Similar scandals have occurred also in other parts of the world, including Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, and France.
